While I’m thrilled to be part of the Terror Australis Festival and can’t wait to share my passion for reading and writing with locals and visitors alike, make no mistake: behind the friendly exterior, in my imagination, I’ll be finding the menace in your beautiful environment, turning your excellent local wines and produce into poison, scattering your exquisite Huon Valley with dead bodies… - Angela Savage

Congratulations to the creative team of Terror Australis for conjuring up out of nothing:

(a) a brand new Australian literary festival;

(b) in fiction’s most popular genre;

(c) in the world’s only town named after a baby swan, on a river named after the world’s rarest ancient tree;

(d) deep in the heart of hot-spot Tasmania;

(e) with a unique focus on brilliant Australian women authors.

[Written and authorised by Detective Inspector Franz ‘Pufferfish’ Heineken, who will be on duty keeping a watchful eye on proceedings, lest they get out of hand.]

Stay up to date on what’s happening at the festival.
