What a writer’s and reader’s delight it will be to celebrate great authors and chilling reads in one of my favourite parts of the world. Tasmania - the people, the food, the coffee, the hospitality - and good crime novels are a delicious fit. I would kill to be at the Terror Australis Festival, but thankfully I was invited so I won’t need to. - Tara Moss

Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival is Tasmania’s newest biennial literary festival held in the gorgeous Huon Valley (#TAF2019).

From Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3 November 2019, #TAF2019 offers a four-day program jam-packed with incisive panels, grave workshops and deadly festivities.

Inspired by Agatha Christie, the inaugural theme ~ Murder She Wrote ~ is an exploration of crime and mystery fiction written by women. Featuring Tara Moss, Kerry Greenwood and Shamini Flint, we have a panellist line-up to die for.

In addition to celebrating darker words and worlds, the festival will encourage readers to expand their bookshelves through the Hall of Writers, the largest gathering of authors and publishers ever held in the valley.

After four days of exploring dangerous stories, expanding your nefarious knowledge and connecting through wicked words. relax during our two-day après-fest ~ the Trail of Writers’ Tears (Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 November 2019) ~ by exploring the finest produce, arts and culture the Huon Valley has to offer.
