FUNDRAISING

Supporting Literacy in Regional Tasmania

FUNDRAISING EVENTS 3 TO 5 MARCH 2019

Like the rest of Tasmania, the Huon Valley has a functional literacy rate of just 50%. There are some wonderful organisations working to raise that percentage.

To inspire further change, alongside our ticketed program we’ll offer four days of free community events exploring new books to read, connecting readers and writers with each other and expanding the love of reading in the Huon Valley.

We’re excited by the challenge of funding our free events, including the children’s program, youth writer residency program, and celebrating our local authors in the Hall of Writers.

$1 = $2 with MATCH Lab

To get us started, the festival has been accepted into the Creative Partnerships Australia (CPA) MATCH Lab program.

All funds raised before 31 May 2019 will be matched dollar for dollar by MATCH Lab, meaning $1 = $2 to support free community events promoting literacy in regional Tasmania.

Tax deductible donations may be made to the festival at any time through Creative Partnerships Australia (CPA), a registered charity.

Anytime you gather storytellers in the same place, creative magic happens. When that place is as beautiful and special as Cygnet, the magic is powerful indeed.  I can’t wait to be back in Tasmania, to be inspired by Cygnet and the wonderful writers attending Terror Australis Festival, and to share our love of the craft with all those who join us. - Sulari Gentill
